  10. For too long I have been ignoring lots of you cowards who use this website to tarnish people’s names and don’t even have the courage use your names because you’re afraid your lies will and lack of knowledge will be exposed. Let me set the record straight for you. NELASA was affiliated with Mass Soccer even when it was under the leadership of the Portuguese in New Bedford. NELASA’s affiliation with Mass Soccer has absolutely nothing to do with me as many of you have claimed. Emigrantes’ 1st two years in the US and Amateur Cups were when Emigrantes was not even playing in NELASA. At that time Emigrantes was playing in the Super N League based out of RI. For those who still have doubts I’m Emigrantes from the bottom of my heart and will be for life. But what you should also know is that I would never compromise my character for Emigrantes or anybody else. In my tenure as the President and Vice-president of NELASA respectively, every decision I made was with NELASA and not Emigrantes’ best interest in mind. If any of you have evidence that proves otherwise, I challenge you to put it out there for all to see. I also know that some of you have questioned why NELASA is affiliated with Mass Soccer and have gone as far as saying that there is nothing to gain. I can only assume that anyone making such statement is not well informed. So please make note of the following so in the future you will be better informed.

NELASA pays Mass Soccer $15 per player in order to be affiliated.
•$10 – secondary player medical insurance (this portion will go away next year) and liability insurance.
    •$3.50 - USASA membership fee
•$1.50 - US Soccer membership fee
For these fees NELASA gets the following benefits:
1.Access to licensed US Soccer referees. If you are not a member you will not get certified referees. Being a member gets you access to ref assignors and up to 5,000 registered refs. Access to these refs that have training, education, and evaluation programs with a procedure for complaints on referees
2.Player and liability Insurance. You need this for most fields and referee will not step on the field without the liability insurance. In fact most facilities will not issue a permit without the liability insurance.
3.Teams can participate in MASS State Cup, Nationals Cups, Veterans Cup, Donnelly Cup, and Champions League.
4.Use of independent panel for appeals and disciplinary hearings on state level. In addition, having an appeal system which includes an impartial governing body to oversee all play of soccer.
5.Access to coaching classes for licensing purposes
6.Having a centralized communication center to handle information concerning all affiliated leagues, soccer happenings across the United States and the world soccer events

  11. In closing I want reiterate that there is nothing wrong debating issues and having different point of view. However, there is something fundamentally wrong with people making false accusations in order to advance their own cause, giving little thought to what they’re doing to somebody else’s character/reputation in the process.
