Members of our Community:

We are pleased to announce that NELASA has initiated a search to replace its Executive Committee’s Vice President Position. The Vice President will be required to perform important duties including assisting the President and executing the President’s duties in his absence or by his request.

New England Luso-American Soccer Association, Inc. known primarily by its popular acronym "NELASA" is a highly-acclaimed amateur soccer league currently based out of the City of Brockton, which plays an important role in the lives of approximately 500 proficient soccer athletes and their families. The league is an important recreational and educational vehicle for a lot of young talented soccer athletes who can either move on beyond the playgrounds of the NELASA league to further polish their soccer skills on a collegiate level or even ply their soccer trade on US based professional soccer leagues such as the MLS (Major League Soccer), USL (United Soccer League) or any other professional soccer league around the world.

NELASA’s mission is to build a strong soccer community by preserving the “Football” tradition while fostering physical, intellectual, and emotional growth through the game of soccer. Our goal is to raise the level of Soccer in our area by promoting community-based competitive and recreational soccer in a positive and safe environment that emphasizes the true spirit of sportsmanship; fostering programs and games that engage the community; emphasizing the highest level of commitment and dedication to the game of soccer.

In order for this organization to continue to attain our goals, we need a highly motivated, responsible and dedicated individual to assume this important role within our organization and our community. If anyone is interested please contact us by the end of the day on January 6th, 2009.

We would like to thank you in advance and please fell free to contact us before January 6th for more information if you feel necessary.

Sincerely,
Mario A. Santos
President
