With Carlos “Bibi” Amado resigning as NELASA’s president, Narcisa Araujo, known by Chi, NELASA’s Vice President for a good part of last year and this year made her intentions of stepping in as the new President clear. Her wishes came true yesterday, June 20th 2010 at the last General Assembly meeting when Bibi made his resignation official. Ironically Chi stepped in for Bibi, when he stepped down as Vice President last season during Mario “Betinho” Santos reign.
In a brief phone conversation with CrioloSports.com the avid soccer lover stated that Bibi is an irreplaceable leader. To her it is a shame that the people that most benefited from Bibi’s leadership where the ones responsible for his departure. Chi feels that it will take a team- work to manage NELASA. She is counting on the help and support of her team, all NELASA’s teams, players, delegates and the community in general.

I don't beleive what my eyes are reading. Chi as the new nelasa president? Is this a joke? She knows nothing about soccer and most importantly the bylaws. This league is slowly deteriorating and its a shame that Bibi could not commit to the presidency as he promised. Now Nelasa is screwed and there's nothing no one can do to fix it. What a SHAMEEEEEE~!!
ReplyDeleteSHAME, SHAME, SHAME! ALL BETINHO AND BIBI'S FAULT. JULIO PINTO DID A GREAT JOB. MR. ANDRADE HAS HELPED THIS LEAGUE A GREAT DEAL AND WE NO LONGER SEE HIM COMING TO THE GAMES ANYMORE. TIAGO IS ALSO LEAVING THIS YEAR. I HEARD THAT ANDRADE AND TIAGO ARE GOING TO PUT A GREAT LEAGUE TOGETHER. SO FAR, 11 TEAMS ARE COMMITED TO JOIN THE NEW LEAGUE. I CAN'T WAIT!

ReplyDeleteA Message from the new leadership;
Friends, as you know, Carlos “Bibi” Amado resigned as league President effective 6/20. Without going into specifics, the league would like extend its gratitude for all of his hard work in the time of his presidency. Bibi worked extremely hard, putting in long hours to ensure that league business was conducted. For his countless hours of dedication to the league, again we say thank you.
Now we must turn the page to a new chapter. With his resignation, the Vice President must assume the presidency according to our bylaws. Narcisa Araújo will now assume the role as acting President. All the remaining board members have agreed to continue in their respective roles, performing their pre-designated duties. The current board members would like to assure all affiliated teams, media and community, that it’ll do everything in its power to not only continue what Carlos Amado started, but also to lead in a way that would (continue to) make NELASA, the state’s number 1 (one) adult league.
The board will need the cooperation of everyone connected directly or indirectly with NELASA, to see that the transition is carried out in a manner that will be least disruptive to its operation. The Board is confident that transition will be a smooth one, mostly because Carlos Amado has graciously agreed to lend his support through this transition.
We may not always agree; we may not always disagree; but, WE MUST ALWAYS AGREE TO DISAGREE.
